Dr. Haider M. Al-Attia, from Basra, Iraq, has dedicated over 30 years to the medical profession, not only as a practitioner, but also as a contributor to the advancement of medicine, as

a
researcher:  over 60 publications in international, regional and local medical journals, and participant in 4 international
scientific clinical trails;

a
lecturer: over 30 presentations internationally and locally;

an
examiner: regular examiner for Part II MRCP (I) and for MRCP (UK);

a
reviewer: reviewer for Rheumatology (UK), Saudi Medical Journal (SA), Clinical & Experimental Rheumatology and member of the editorial board of Rheumatology International.

a
teacher: of internal medicine for 10s of under and postgraduates who have successfully passed their MRCP examination.

After obtaining his MBBCh from Ain-Shams University Medical School in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Al-Attia worked in various hospitals in Egypt, Jordan, Libya and the United Kingdom. He then obtained his Diploma in Tuberculosis & Chest Disease (DTCD) from Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff, Wales. After successfully  becoming a Member in the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in Jan 1980, he relocated to the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Al-Attia attained his first Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in Ireland in 1995, followed by fellowships in the Royal Colleges of Glasgow and London in 2002 and 2004 respectively.

He was awarded the Medical Sciences of Dubai Cultural and Scientific Association Award in 1995. In 2003, he was awarded the Abu Dhabi General Authority for Health Services Certificate of Academic and Clinical Achievement.

Dr. Al-Attia is working as a Consultant Physician in Internal Medicine in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
